Martin Brundle, winner in La Sarthe in 1990, arrived direct from Montréal where he was commentating on the Canadian Grand Prix.. His son Alex looked back on Le Mans test day (3rd June) and looks forward to the 80th 24 Hours of Le Mans (16th-17th June).

No.42 Greaves Motorsport, Zytek-Nissan driver Alex Brundle spoke about sharing the car with his father : "It was fine (test day), we were pretty cautious, then I started to build and managed to set a fast enough time. We are in good shape. We shared a lot of information, we got out of the car and delivered the feedback, the condition of the circuit and the condition of the car, but I can take experience from him and hopefully he can take a little bit from me, which is good for us both. It helps us to be better this week. He did a good job and we are happy with the car. All three drivers are capable of delivering the times, we saw that in testing... I'm happy."

Martin Brundle: "Le Mans hasn’t changed a great deal to be honest since I was here with Bentley which is a good thing. It’s all got the same feel and the track is fundamentally the same as I remembered with just a few different run off areas. So far the experience is good.”

Asked if it was his idea to do Le Mans with Alex or his son’s, he said: “I didn’t expect to be coming back here as a driver to be honest. It came about after Alex and I had done some Radical races together and been very successful in them…it all just went on from there. The whole plan to do the 24 Hours of Le Mans came together perfectly and we happened to meet all the right people at the right time.”
