Bentley: 10 years already!

The 2003 winning car will be featured at Goodwood this summer ...

The 14th of July is a French national holiday, but in England we will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the victory of Bentley at Le Mans.

Bentley is one of the names that is engraved in the legend of Le Mans. Winning five times between 1923 and 1930, the company showed a success rate of over 60%, but plagued by financial difficulties, the manufacturer would soon abandon La Sarthe, only to return in 2001, after 50 years of absence!

After a two year programme resulting in a 3rd place in 2001 and 4th in 2002, Bentley launched its major offensive in 2003 with two new Speed 8 cars with reworked aerodynamics. In front of a crowd of British fans, the green machines finished 1-2 ... A historic moment, followed by a memorable victory parade down the Champs-Elysées in Paris!

Ten years later, Bentley could not miss the opportunity to revive the national fervour of race fans in the upcoming Goodwood Festival of Speed. The winning No.8 will run up this most glamorous of hill-climbs. The brand ambassador, Derek Bell (5 wins at Le Mans), as well as one of the winners of 2003, Guy Smith will be driving. The festivities will be accompanied by many demonstrations, including that the new Flying Spur, the most powerful (625 hp) and fastest (322 km/h) cars in the history of Bentley!

The Goodwood Festival is on the 13th and 14th of July.
