Aston Martin return at Silverstone

Absent at Imola, Aston Martin will rejoin the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup for the final 3 rounds, starting with Silverstone, but not with the AMR-One.

Facing major problems with the development of the AMR-One, Aston Martin decided to miss the Itailan round of the ILMC, and on Friday they announced that they will compete in the remaining three rounds of the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup, but reverting to last year's V12-engined DBR1-2 LM P1.

The marque did have recent success in the American Le Mans Series with the Luhr/Graf Cytosport Muscle Milk Lola-Aston winning at Mosport from pole position.

In addition to racing at Silverstone (11th September), Petit Le Mans (1st October) and Zhuhai (13th November) in ILMC, the English manufacturer is entered for Laguna Seca (ALMS) on the 17th of September. The DBR1-2, in the colors of Gulf oil, will undergo a series of tests in the month of August. In competition, it will be driven by the Mexican Adrian Fernandez and Swiss Harold Primat.

In parallel, the technicians at Prodrive (also responsible for Mini in the WRC) are still looking for ways to make the AMR-One reliable and competitive.
