After a successful 2015/2016 campaign with a Ferrari 458 that allowed the outfit battling Australian and Malaysian forces to win a victory in the GT class at the third round in Buriram, Thailand, Infinity Race Engineering will be entered both in the Asian Le Mans Series in 2016/2017 and in the Asian Le Mans Sprint Cup whose races this year will all take place at the Sepang circuit in Malaysia.
C.Q Loh, Executive Director of Infinity Race Engineering, signed a partnership with ADESS to furnish an LM P3 prototype with one clear objective: the 24 Hours of Le Mans in LM P2. Indeed, a team winning in LM P3 by the end of the 2016/2017 season of the Asian Le Mans Series will receive an automatic invitation in LM P2 at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the same year, as cars in the LM P3 class are not authorized to compete at the 24 Hours.
On its Facebook page, the team announced its was looking for Bronze and Silver drivers, as classified by the FIA, who would like to take the start at Le Mans. Those interested can contact C.Q Loh's outfit.
C.Q Loh, Executive Director: "We’re extremely excited to be back in the Asian Le Mans Series with an ADESS. We saw the potential of what the ACO junior prototype formula had to offer to our more experienced gentlemen drivers as well as the development opportunities it presented to bring along young drivers in our journey to Le Mans. Stéphane Chosse and myself have been in contact for a few years now and have toyed with the idea of a partnership for a while, so the timing could not have been better! We’re definitely looking forward to putting the car through its paces using the Sprint Cup in Sepang as a training ground in preparation for onslaught of the Asian Le Mans Series."
The first round of the Asian Le Mans Series Spring Cup will take place May 18th and 19th at the Sepang circuit, and the first race of the Asian Le Mans Series be at Zhuhai, China on October 30th since the season straddles two calendar years.
