Archie Hamilton follows the family tradition at the 24 Hours of Le Mans

Sixty years after his grandfather Duncan won in a Jaguar, Archie Hamilton will race on the 22nd and 23rd June in his first 24 Hours with British team Delta-ADR.

At the age of 22, Archie Hamilton ha already shown promise (Formula Ford, Formula Renault), Porsche Carrera Cup and International GT Open. At Le Mans he will join Tor Graves and Shinji Nakano driving the Oreca-Nissan No.25. On his debut at La Sarthe, the young Briton will be in one of the top teams in the LM P2 prototype class: Delta-ADR had a class win on the 14th of April at the 6 Hours of Silverstone, the opening round of the FIA World Endurance Championship 2013.

Archie Hamilton, however, is realistic about his debut: “Obviously winning is the goal but so much can happen. To finish in my first year would be brilliant – anything after that would be an amazing bonus. I will do my best to look after the car, drive consistently and work with the team to get the best result possible. I will do everything I can to make my family proud of me for following my grandfather’s driving line." Duncan Hamilton (1920-1994). In 1953, together with Tony Rolt, he scored the second of seven victories for Jaguar. The duo also finished second in 1954. In his nine participations, Duncan Hamilton drove six times in the 24 hours in a Jaguar.
