The accident of owner-driver Greg Pickett of Team CytoSport, resulted in the retirement of his Porsche RS Spyder for the sixth round American Le Mans Series (ALMS) in 2010, and will also remove him from contesting the remainder of the season.
His victory at Lime Rock two weeks ago will unfortunately been his last race in 2010. "I am fortunate to have the same Doctor as Scott Sharp, Frank Bono, who came to see me yesterday and suggested I go to the hospital for further tests," said Greg Pickett. "The x-ray scanners have detected a fracture of the third vertebra and two ribs broken which will prevent me from driving for three to four months." We wish Greg a speedy recovery" said his team manager Geoff Carter. "We will be working with Porsche to find a replacement to partner Klaus for the rest of the season. We hope to make an announcement next week."
