After suffering many problems at Le Castellet and Spa (and also at the Le Mans 24 Hours), the Peugeot 908 HDi FAP entered by the Team Oreca Matmut has just won the Algarve 1000kms.
Stéphane Sarrazin, Olivier Panis and Nicolas Lapierre won the race ahead of the Rebellion Lola of Nicolas Prost/Neel Jani and the Signature Plus Lola Aston Martin of Franck Mailleux/Pierre Ragues/Vanina Ickx.
The LMP2 class saw another victory by the HPD (Honda) engine after the Strakka Racing HPD was delayed, thanks to the RML Lola finishing ahead of the Ginetta Zytek entered by Team Bruichladdich and the surprising Courage entered by Pegasus Racing.
AF Corse and their Ferrari F430 GTs scored a 1-2 in the LMGT2 class, with the #96 and 95 ahead of the Felbermayr-Proton Porsche of Richard Lietz and Marc Lieb.
Larbre Compétition won its second LMGT1 class victory in the 2010 Le Mans Series season, after the 8 Hours of Le Castellet.
