In town for the Indianapolis 500 and to cheer on not only French driver and pole-sitter Simon Pagenaud but ChampCar champion and Le Mans native Sébastien Bourdais (who will participate in the 2019 24 Hours of Le 2019 on 15-16 June), Automobile Club de l'Ouest President Pierre Fillon met none other than Matt Damon and Christian Bale, stars of the movie "Le Mans 66" to be released this November. This major production, directed by James Mangold, covers the incredible battle between Ford and Ferrari at the 1966 running of the race.
The two stars admitted they loved making the film - for which the ACO provided cars, production design elements and more - and said they regret not being able to attend the 2019 24 Hours of Le Mans next month, but will be sure to make it to the legendary race in the near future.
