To participate, click HERE and choose one per decade. The vote is open until the 15th of January 2013. Each of the thirty cars will have a short introduction. Today it is theBMW V12 LMR that won the 24 Hours of Le Mans 1999.

The BMW V12 LMR is the second incarnation of the prototype developed jointly for the 24 Hours of Le Mans by Williams (sixteen World Champion titles and 114 victories in Formula 1) and BMW. After the retirement of both the two V12 LM in 1998, two V12 LMR took over the following year (two V12 LM were also entered by private teams). During the race, they faced the Audi R8R and especially the Toyota GT-One of Toshio Suzuki, Keiichi Tsuchiya and Ukyo Katayama. The latter passed the BMW of Dalmas-Martini-Winkelhock, who had taken the lead after the 21st hour following the accident of the sister car of Kristensen-Lehto-Müller. But a puncture delayed the Japanese trio within an hour of the finish. BMW won their only success at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in a transition period between the sixteenth victory for Porsche (1998) and the first for Audi (2000).
