The Ferrari 166 MM (1949) : 30 cars and 90 years of the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2/30
This year marked the revival of the 24 hours after a decade of interruption due to World War II, and also the birth of Ferrari, who won at their first attempt in La Sarthe with the MM 166. Even today, it remains one of the most beautiful Ferrari ever built. After (brilliantly) representing Alfa Romeo competing in the 30's, Enzo Ferrari became a manufacturer under its own name in 1947. This first success in La Sarthe, barely two years after the birth of the Prancing Horse marque, was followed by eight more, up to 1965. During this period, Ferrari contributed greatly to the legend of Le Mans, and vice versa.
