The forthcoming weekend of races in the UK will be revealing in terms of form and performance even if Le Mans entrants will not all be in the same line-up.
The 6 Hours of Silverstone will throw up several questions concerning the WEC. First of all, will Toyota hold on to its title? Will Porsche be able to sustain its form after winning the 6 Hours of Sao Paolo at the end of the 2014 season? Will Audi manage to return to the top spot? Will Aston Martin and Porsche beat Ferrari in LM GTE Pro? Who will win LM P2, the biggest class at Silverstone and at the next Le Mans 24 Hours? Will the Corvette make a successful comeback in LM GTE Am? These questions will be in the air not only at Silverstone, but also in the seven other legs of the 2015 FIA World Endurance Championship.
The European Le Mans Series is just as open and also has its share of changes, starting with the new LM P3 class. One of the LM P3 cars is sure to attract plenty of attention from the British crowd, the Ginetta n°03, driven by none other than Sir Chris Hoy, the Olympic champion track cyclist who is aiming to take part in the Le Mans 24 Hours in 2016. Any of the teams in LM P2 could win the class. The BMW Z4 showed plenty of promise in LM GTE and GTC at the end of last season and will be stiff competition for Ferrari, which dominated both categories in 2014.
