24 Hours of Le Mans – The Toyota GR010 Hybrid enjoys a triumphant homecoming in Cologne

Toyota Gazoo Racing claimed victory at the 89th 24 Hours of Le Mans with its new Hypercar, the GR010 Hybrid. The winner's trophy and the victorious car are now back in Cologne (Germany), the European headquarters of the Toyota’s racing division.

The Toyota Gazoo Racing #7 Toyota GR010 Hybrid received a hero's welcome as it arrived back at its team’s base in Cologne. The latest award will join the rest of the team's silverware in their trophy cabinet. That cabinet is already home to the 2020 trophy which the manufacturer will now keep for good, as is the tradition when a team wins the French endurance classic three times in a row.

The winning Toyota GR010 Hybrid #7 was driven by Mike Conway, Kamui Kobayashi and José María López. Meanwhile, Buemi/Nakajima/Hartley, the trio behind the wheel of the #8 sister car, came in two laps behind the leaders to claim a one-two finish for Toyota.
In two months’ time, the team will head to Bahrain for the last two rounds of the 2021 the FIA WEC season.
