24 Hours of Le Mans - The Jaguar Type D (video)

Though Jaguar no longer has a presence in the endurance world, in the 1950s the British marque won plenty of victories with no less than five in seven editions of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It would take 30 years to see a Jaguar cross the finish line again in first place.

Despite the Jaguar Type C's win at the 1953 24 Hours of Le Mans, the British manufacturer decided to develop a new car, to be called Type D, naturally. Appearing in 1954, it won its first victory at Le Mans in 1955 and carries the best record of all cars entered in competition by Jaguar...
