Ferrari, Corvette then Porsche: the three marques entered in the 2021 24 Hours of Le Mans took to the podium in that order, with the US outfit less than a minute behind its Italian rival.
Alessandro Pier Guidi: “It wasn’t easy at all. We pushed like crazy from the very first moment. The conditions weren't easy at the start: with slow zones and safety cars, it’s important to keep the advantage. Then there was the weather; it rained at the start and during the night. Also, Corvette was super quick, but we expected that. Sometimes we gained laps, sometimes we lost time in other laps due to traffic. Being here is a special feeling. Even if it isn’t my first victory, it's the same feeling as it was two years ago, it is incredible, amazing.”
James Calado: “It probably looked easy from the outside, but actually it was a really, really difficult race and it proved to be really strategic. The team did an amazing job in terms of strategy to get us up to the front. The Corvette was quicker than us at times and they put a lot of pressure on us. I’m thankful to get our second win, it’s a great achievement and I’m super happy.”
Côme Ledogar: “I just had to do my job and keep the car on track. I tried to drive it as fast as I could and not damage it to give them the best conditions possible for the championship. The car was fantastic to drive and I really enjoyed it.”
