Panis-Barthez Compétition and Tech1 Racing have merged to form a new team: Panis Racing. The outfit will be competing in the European Le Mans Series with the aim of picking up an invitation to the 24 Hours of Le Mans on 13–14 June 2020.
Having worked together before, Panis-Barthez Compétition and Tech1 Racing have decided to operate as a single entity, competing under the name of Panis Racing. The team will be focusing on the European Le Mans Series this year, with the 88th 24 Hours of Le Mans in June the ultimate goal. Details of the racing programme and driver line-ups will be announced soon.
“We want to thank Fabien Barthez for his support these past four years. His name and his aura were instrumental in getting the team off the ground and opened many doors. We wish him well in his next sporting endeavours”, said Olivier Panis, co-owner (with Simon Abadie).
Panis-Barthez Compétition was 13th overall and 8th in LMP2 at the last 24 Hours of Le Mans. The team’s cars finished 10th and 11th in the 2019 European Le Mans Series.
