Following a debugging session in Arizona, Nissan underwent a series of tests on the Circuit of the Americas, which hosts a round of the FIA World Endurance Championship and another series at Sebring, which was curtailed due to breakage. Since then, the Japanese constructor has continued tests despite last week’s session having been disrupted by violent storms.
On 26 March, Nissan published a few photos of its workshops and the preparations for a new series of tests that should go ahead this week. Now that the GT-R LM NISMO has passed the FIA crash test, the prototype is ready for the endurance premier league.
Fans will still have to wait until June to see the front-engined, front-wheel-drive car on track with rivals Audi, Porsche and Toyota as Nissan has decided not to take part in the first two rounds of the FIA WEC at Silverstone and Spa-Francorchamps.
