24 Hours of Le Mans - Free practice session curtailed

Just ten minutes before the end of free practice, a third red flag brought the session to a premature end.

Competitors were counting on ten more minutes to continue testing their set-ups but were pulled up short. First, Inès Taittinger (#28 Pegasus Racing - Morgan) came off at the Karting corner.

A few seconds later Stéphane Sarrazin’s #6 Toyota TS050 Hybrid was announced to be running slowly. The Frenchman hit the guardrail coming out of Indianapolis. He took the corner slightly wide and ended up head-first in the rail on the other side of the track. Fortunately he was able to drive away without assistance. Kazuki Nakajima was only a few seconds behind but managed to avoid him.

Neel Jani (#2 Porsche 919 Hybrid) came away from the free practice with the best time of the session: 03:22.011.
