The number of cars competing in the 89th 24 Hours of Le Mans on 21-22 August 2021. The grid comprises five Hypercars, 25 LMP2 prototypes, seven LMGTE Pro contenders and 24 LMGTE Am entries, plus one in the “Innovative car” category.

The number of team nationalities. The most strongly represented nation is Great Britain with 11 teams, ahead of Germany (nine) and the USA (eight).

Hypercar, the new top class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), welcomes three manufacturers: Toyota, Glickenhaus and Alpine.

There will be one “Innovative car” entry. This is the #84 Oreca 07-Gibson fielded by SRT41, the team set up by Frédéric Sausset, the first quadruple amputee to have finished the 24 Hours of Le Mans (2016). Two of the three drivers have a disability.

The entry list features nine renowned marques: Toyota (two GR010-Hybrids), Ferrari (fourteen 488 GTE Evos), Porsche (eleven 911 RSR-19s), Glickenhaus (two 007 LMHs), Alpine (one A480-Gibson), Aurus (two 01-Gibsons), Chevrolet Corvette (two C8.Rs), Aston Martin (four Aston Martin Vantage AMRs) and Ligier (two JSP217-Gibsons).

The LMP2 class comprises 11 line-ups combining amateur and professional drivers.

As in 2020, six women drivers will start the 24 Hours of Le Mans in two all-female line-ups. The #1 Oreca 07-Gibson entered by Richard Mille Racing Team in LMP2 will be driven by Tatiana Calderón, Sophia Flörsch and Beitske Visser. LMGTE Am outfit Iron Lynx have so far announced Rahel Frey and Michelle Gatting at the wheel of the #85 Ferrari 488 GTE Evo.

The number of teams competing in the 24 Hours of Le Mans for the first time. They are Glickenhaus Racing, PR1 Motorsports Mathiasen, Team WRT, Realteam Racing, Racing Team India Eurasia, Absolute Racing, Herberth Motorsport, Inception Racing, Rinaldi Racing and D’Station Racing.
