With 57 cars entered, Endurance Racing Legends, one of four support races at the 89th 24 Hours of Le Mans, is sure to be an exciting event. This "modern" field from top vintage race organizer Peter Auto includes GTs and prototypes from the 2000s. Fans will get to see a 1997 Porsche 911 GT1, Aston Martin DBR9s, Ferrari 550 Maranellos, Dodge Viper GTS-Rs, Riley & Scott MK IIIs, a 2004 Lola-MG EX257 and a 2003 Bentley Speed 8.
Emmanuel Collard (24 participations in the 24 Hours) is set to retake the wheel of the Porsche 911 GT1. In 1997, he shared the car with Ralf Kelleners and Yannick Dalmas. They were forced to retire after 22 hours when the car burst into flames in the Mulsanne Straight. Other previous Le Mans drivers taking the start in Endurance Racing Legends are Darren Turner, Martin Short, Stuart Hall, Pierre Bruneau, Marc Rostan and Pierre Ehret.
Competitors will hit the track for one free practice session, qualifying and two races. The races will be broadcast live on Peter Auto's Facebook page and YouTube channel.
