24 Hours of Le Mans 2015 - Porsche is already setting up in the paddock!

While Toyota hits the track at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit for a final test session before the 83rd edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Porsche has already begun to set up in the paddock at the 24 Hours circuit.

Three prototypes and two GTs will race officially for Porsche in two different classes on June 13th and 14th for the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the third round of the 2015 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) season. For the race, no less than 750 Porsche employees will make the trip and be put up on a campus specially created to host them.

For the moment, 12 individuals are already on-site to erect the two-story structures behind the pits for materials and in the paddock for drivers to rest. On May 27th, trucks will leave Weissach as a team takes care of putting up the structures that will house the 120 members of the outfit and the press in the support paddock, the two structures reserved for guests and the Porsche booth located in the Village.

Though the two Porsche 919 Hybrids sport the same colours during the season, they will each wear their own colours for the 24 Hours of Le Mans, just like the third car joining them at Le Mans. So, the No. 17 car for Timo Bernhard, Brendon Hartley and Mark Webber will be red while the No. 18 919 Hybrid for Romain Dumas, Neel Jani and Marc Lieb will be black and the No. 19 for Earl Bamber, Nico Hülkenberg and Nick Tandy will be white.

With 23 people in charge of each car, the team principal Andreas Seidl has a lot on his plate, as he does the rest of the year, except at Spa-Francorchamps when only two Porsche 919 Hybrids are entered: "To coordinate three cars means once again a bigger challenge for all of us. The race in Spa gave us a taste of what it takes, but this was only a six-hour event. We have used our 30-hours of testing to play through many eventualities. However, it is impossible to simulate Le Mans – and without a super professional crew you just cannot stay the course successfully."

Last year, for Porsche's big return to the head class, neither of the two cars made it to the standings, but after the win in Brazil at the final race of the 2014 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) season and already two poles this year, naturally the German manufacturer has ambitions at the highest level for the 83rd edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans!
