24 Hours of Le Mans 2013 : Introducing GTE Am

The 24 Hours of Le Mans is divided into three classes, and as many races within the race. Introducing the LM GTE Am class.

In GTE Am, In GTE Am, each car can only have one professional driver. As a result, the class hierarchy is more dependent on the homogeneity of crews that the competitiveness of one man. This legendary American sportscar has remained unbeaten since the inception of the class in 2011 ... And, every time, the same duo of Gentlemen (Canal and Bornhauser) who have mounted the podium. The French team Larbre know the recipe for success by heart and could well take victory for the third consecutive time, especially as the team of Jack Leconte is celebrating its 25th anniversary and its 20th participation in the 24 Hours of Le Mans .

With AF Corse (at Le Mans since 2007) and Krohn Racing (at Le Mans since 2006), Maranello can count on four cars that have been impeccably prepared to face the 24 hours. But we shouldn't underestimate the newcomers 8Star Motorsports who are a close relative of Starworks Motorsport whose debut last year resulted in a victory in the LM P2 class.

Leading up to the start of the last hour of the race last year, IMSA Performance Matmut are back again with a single goal: victory! To achieve this, the Rouen based team have two cars, one driven by the promising Jean-Karl Vernay. The pace of the French driver who has his eye on a drive in wheel in the future Porsche LMP1, will be followed closely. Two cars, too, for Proton Competition, one entrusted to actor/driver Patrick Dempsey, who put in an impressive performance during Test Day (4'04 "006). Although entered on behalf of his own team, he can count on technical support group who beat the cream of GT in 2010.
