Two among them are the winningest French drivers at the 24 Hours of Le Mans: four-time winners Henri Pescarolo and Yannick Dalmas have both won once with Porsche.
Henri Pescarolo (winner in 1984) - The only French driver to have won three consecutive victories at Le Mans with Matra (1972-73-74), he is also the first citizen of his country to win at 24 Hours at the wheel of a Porsche, entered by the Reinhold Joest team. With Klaus Ludwig, he was a member of the last two-driver driver line-up to win at Le Mans. Record-holder for the most participations in the 24 Hours (33), he took the start of the race seven times at the wheel of a Porsche.
Yannick Dalmas (winner in 1994) - He won the second of his four victories at the wheel of the Dauer-Porsche 962 C, along with Hurley Haywood and Mauro Baldi. Thereafter, he was a Porsche factory driver three times at Le Mans (1996-97-98). He won his four wins at the wheel of four different cars: Peugeot (1992), Dauer-Porsche (1994), McLaren (1995) and BMW (1999).
Laurent Aiello (winner in 1998) - For his first participation in the 24 Hours, Laurent Aiello won what is to-date the 16th and last win for Porsche. His teammates were Scottish driver Allan McNish and Stéphane Ortelli, a Monaco citizen born in France who won after his fourth start. Aiello was a pioneer of Audi's saga at Le Mans with three other top 5s at the wheel of an R8 prototype (fourth in 1999, second in 2000 and 2001).
