Today, fans can ask their favourite drivers to sign everything from photos to caps during the autograph session, and the team mechanics will face off in the 3rd Pit Stop Challenge. Will Peugeot TotalEnergies be able to defend its crown in Hypercar?
From 14:00 to 18:00, pit lane will be open to the public for the perfect opportunity to meet the teams, and especially the drivers, between 14:00 and 15:00 during the autograph session. Drivers are happy to take selfies as well. Bring items such as snapshots or hats, etc. to have signed. This is always a high-spirited and enjoyable Race Week event.
Launched in 2022, the Pit Stop Challenge requires mechanics from the 62 teams to compete to determine who executes a tyre change the fastest in their category. This contest demands constant training and excellent physical fitness given that a wheel weighs more than 20 kg and a tyre gun 6 kg. This is why teams repeat the operation hundreds of times per season. During the race, every fraction of a second lost during a pit stop can cost the win. Don't miss the 3rd Pit Stop Challenge from 15:15 to 16:30. Last year, the Peugeot TotalEnergies mechanics won in the Hypercar category.
For the 8th R’Hunaudières, the Twinning Committee and the Ruaudin town hall are paying tribute to Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Lamborghini and Isotta Fraschini. This edition will also celebrate lesser-known contributors to the race through the presentation of the 7th Marshals’ Trophy. Francis Piquera, the head of the 2024 R’Hunaudières, is expected to share anecdotes about Alfa Romeo and Isotta Fraschini's victories. The event also offers exceptional car exhibitions dedicated to the carmakers in this year's spotlight.
