2014 24 Hours of Le Mans - Fastest laps and race run focus for Dunlop teams at Le Mans test

The 2013 fastest LMP2 times were beaten with G-Drive Racing lapping in 3:37.795. Twelve of the seventeen LMP2 cars chose Dunlop tyres with the top seven times being set on the brand.

The teams focused on race runs predominantly, with several exceeding 400km on sets of medium compound tyres. The hard option proved to perform well with them being the option on which both morning and afternoon session fastest times were set.

In the eight hours on track, the 12 teams lapped a total of 865 times, a combined distance of over 11,500 kilometres – over 2.5 times the 2013 LMP2 race distance.

A further free practice session will be held on Wednesday 11th June followed by a qualifying session that night. Thursday 20th June sees a further two qualifying sessions with the 24 hour race starting on Saturday 14th June.

Jean-Felix Bazelin, General Manager Dunlop Motorsport Europe: "It was business as usual for us today. The teams focused on the race runs and had good pace, already bettering last year’s lap time. We now understand the 2014 track parameters and have plenty of data for the teams which we can analyse and will help us with the qualifying and race performances."
