12 Hours of Sebring 1970 - Steve McQueen : a podium finish despite having one foot in a cast!

The 20th edition of the 12 Hours of Sebring was held on March 21, 1970 remains one of the best vintages, with a Mario Andretti bursting with talent and a Steve McQueen...with his foot in plaster!

For the first time in the race's history, the 68 competitors took a rolling start, which was good news for Steve McQueen, who would not have been able to run to his car in a Le Mans type start. Despite his handicap, the actor/driver finished second in the race with Peter Reveson in a Solar Production Porsche 908, with the outright victory going to the factory Ferrari of Nino Vacarella, Ignazio Giunti and Mario Andretti, starting from pole. In the following video, find out how Steve McQueen drove with a foot in a cast.
