Scrutineering
The 24 Hours of Le Mans is back to a more traditional format this year. The administrative and technical checks known as Scrutineering will once again be held in the city centre at the Place de la République, this time before Test Day. Don't miss your chance to see the cars up close and rub shoulders with the drivers on Friday 3 June from 10:00 to 19:00 and Saturday 4 June from 10:00 to 15:00.
Pit Walk and Autograph Sessions
The pit walk and autograph sessions are fan favourites of race week. The drivers – including professionals, gentlemen drivers, previous winners, veterans and rookies – meet and greet the public to sign autographs, take selfies and participate in Q&A. Spectators also have the opportunity to observe mechanics working on their cars in preparation for the free practice and qualifying sessions. The event kicks off on Tuesday 7 June at 14:00 and is accessible with a Full Week General Admission ticket.
Pit Stop Challenge
This is a new event for the 90th 24 Hours of Le Mans. The Pit Stop Challenge is set for Tuesday 7 June from 15:30 to 16:45 in pit lane. The objective of the competition is to reward the best pit stop crew in each class. Mechanics will attempt to execute the fastest pit stop, changing all four wheels, to win a special trophy. This activity is accessible with a Full Week General Admission ticket.
Hyperpole
During the Hyperpole, scheduled for Thursday 9 June at 20:00, the 23 cars (five Hypercars, six LMP2s, six LMGTE Pros and six LMGTE Ams) that qualified the previous day will hit the track simultaneously for an excercise in pure speed. The time recorded will be clocked by the fastest driver in each crew. Competitors will not have access to pit lane, but are free to select tyres of their choice, subject to the limit allocated for the event. A ceremony for the respective pole-sitters will take place in the pit straight afterwards. Last year, TOYOTA GAZOO Racing's #7 Toyota GR010 Hybrid took the honours with a time of 3:23.900 clocked by Kamui Kobayashi.
Drivers' Parade
Organised the day before the start of the race on Friday 10 June by the Classic Automotive Association, fans are thrilled the Drivers' Parade is back on the programme. It is the perfect opportunity to cheer on the 186 drivers competing the following day and to stock up on souvenirs, signed photos and selfies. This event is a favourite among drivers and their last chance to rest before taking on the big race. To celebrate the event's return, Classic Automotive promises an extremely festive parade with orchestras and a string of beautiful cars. Four-time 24 Hours winners Henri Pescarolo will serve as the master of ceremonies for the 26th Drivers' Parade.
Track open to the public
On Friday 10 June, the day before the start of the 90th 24 Hours, an all-new activity is on the schedule for fans: the extraordinary opportunity to walk the track. Access to the General Enclosure area will be granted with a Full Week General Admission ticket which covers other activities and the pit walk, while access to other key areas around the circuit (from Tertre Rouge to the Porsche curves) are free to anyone on foot, a bike, a scooter or rollerblades. From 14:30 to 19:30, spectators will be able to explore the track of the biggest endurance race in the world and have access to the gathering of vehicles organised by the Virage de Mulsanne association.
Fan Zone
Located just outside the traditional 24 Hours Village, the Fan Zone is outfitted with giant screens, a restaurant area, the young driver's Criterium and a large stage with commentators for uninterrupted race action. Die-hard fans of the 24 Hours never miss the Fan Zone.
Hydrogen Village
During race week for the 2022 24 Hours, from Tuesday 7 to Sunday 12 June, a complex bearing the name ''ACO H2'' with two giant transparent bubbles will be set up in the Village in the main aisle. The installation revolves around those two massive bubbles and a central exhibit presenting the LMPH2G, the laboratory car created by the MissionH24 project in collaboration with GreenGT that aims to create a hydrogen prototype class at the 24 Hours. The project's main vocation: information, education and the commitment of the Automobile Club de l’Ouest and its partners toward the use of hydrogen in competition and zero-emission mobility. Informative content, games, live links with the racing team, H24Racing based at the Maison Blanche for its participation in Road To Le Mans and speeches by hydrogen experts are on the programme.
Kids Zone
For children aged 3-12, the Kids Zone includes fun activities in partnership with Le Journal de Mickey, construction games, face painting, inflatable structures, a baby area and much more.
24 Hours Museum
For the 90th running of the race, the Automobile Club de l’Ouest has opened a new temporary exposition called "Allure Le Mans" at the 24 Hours Museum. The exhibit celebrates Peugeot's legacy at the race from its rookie participation in 1927 to its involvement in Hypercar, and highlights the anniversary of the French marque's win in 1992. Entrance is free upon presentation of an Admission ticket valid on the day of the visit.
Fun Fair
Year after year the Fun Fair at the 24 Hours is a show within a show, packed with loads of attractions like the Ferris wheel, thrill rides, rifle shooting, skill games, bumper cars and much more!
Karting
Located at the heart of the circuit, and accessible with a valid admission ticket, the karting track is open throughout race week. A fleet of karts for amateurs (aged 16 and older) is on hand as well as guidance from a team of enthusiasts and graduates. In the reception area, visitors can enjoy access to simulators and a panoramic terrace with refreshments.
DJ set and headliner concerts
The 24 Hours of Le Mans is where big names come to perform and this year is no exception with four world-renowned artists set to take the main stage.
The Patrouille de France is back!
Every year, thousands of fans gather in the grandstands overlooking the starting grid to anticipate the arrival of the Patrouille de France Alpha Jets. After a two-year absence, the most famous aerial patrol is back on Saturday 11 June at 15:50! The ALAT (Aviation Légère de l’Armée de Terre) and 27th mountain infantry brigade will do their part to make the starting ceremony a moment to remember.
